Stretch marks

Stretch marks, medically known as striae, are a common skin condition characterised by visible lines or streaks on the skin’s surface. They often appear as parallel bands or stripes and can vary in colour, ranging from pink or red to purple, and eventually fade to a silvery or white hue over time. Stretch marks typically occur when the skin is stretched rapidly due to growth, weight gain, or hormonal changes, causing the collagen and elastin fibres within the skin to break or tear.

Main causes of stretch marks
